That's nothing at all like Nazi Germany, but I don't understand why the mounties went into anyone's home regardless of what they took and why. Did they have any idea where the guns were or did they just go rifling through people's personal belongings? That seems crazy to me.

There are plenty of nations that regulate and confiscate guns. That has never been unique to the Nazis. Comparisons to the Nazis can only be justified by reference to the extreme policies and programs most unique to them. Otherwise one sounds hysterical.

I'm not arguing that what the mounties did was justified, I'm simply observing that comparisons to Nazi Germany is verging on the hysterical. I'm pretty well sufficiently opposed to police entering into homes without a warrant to rifle through personal belongings in search of anything.
This is actually one of those rare instances in which I agree with you gun-nuts, outside of the hyperbole.
