It doesn't matter if you open or concealed carry. Either way you are a sad, terrified halfling, unwilling or unable to behave like a fully functional adult, who attempts to rationalize their fear with an absurd political ideology.
There is nothing wrong with carrying when you're in the wilderness. Why would you conflate that with carrying around town?
My preference would be for cops to carry weapons in their cruisers, or to have strategically located tactical teams able to respond specifically to armed threats, while the rest of the cops don't carry anything but billy clubs or tasers.
Of course I don't allow cowardice to dictate my politics, so no doubt you'll take issue with this.
