in 1971 a young man got probation for a misdemeanor drug charge in high school. he was a kid.

in 1973 he joined the army, where he served until 1993. if you don't know, in the military, they handle lots of weaponry.

in 2013 he attempted to purchase a gun, a .22 rifle from walmart.

the fbi said no with the background check. the reason? the drug charge from 1971. he tried again. denied again.



so disgusting. background checks need to end

Or at least a serious revamping about what types of criminal behavior constitute a denial. This is utterly absurd btw.

End background checks. They're pointless in any case. You can get a gun quite easily and avoid any check at all. It's a waste of time and money.

It's unfortunate but he shouldn't have gotten busted for drugs in the first place. His fault, FBI was just doing it job.
