I heard that statistically about 1.2% of Americans will end up getting shot dead some time within their lifetimes (of the Americans alive today, about 3,715,000 will end up shot dead sooner or later). It's quite a lot of dead I guess .. or do you see this as no real problem?

Gonna need to cite a source or post an article, or the thread will get locked. Part of the rules.
Seems a bit high, though.

Long time no see britboy. But yeah put up a link please.
Also I'd be curious to see if the stats included military personnel and no doubt it includes suicides.

Seems somewhat high to me as we'll and I can't find the study.
Not that facts could change the mind of gun owners anyway.

And wormwood laughed at me when I pointed out guns are fun toys for most gun owners.
At least you're honest about your hobby instead of pretending you're going to overthrow the government.

I think one emotive side of the gun debate is that many "pro-gun" people are less so very "pro-gun" and more just sick to death of creeping prohibition. This seems to be true of many younger gun-nuts.
