Is Time Travel Possible?

OK I watched Primer.

All it did was confuse the f**k out of me. I'm going to have to watch it again. I'm not really sure what happened.

Matter would have to become massless to achieve luminal velocity. So no biological entity is going to be able to survive that.

I realize it's only Hollywood, and it's BS and mostly for fun..But sometimes seeing a movie does make one wonder..

As I mentioned earlier in the movie 'Somewhere in Time'( a so-so movie at best) it opens in 1980 with Christopher Reeves a 30 something playwright.. A very old woman( in her 90's) walks up to him, hands him a pocket watch and says come back to me..

So anyway fast forward to later in the movie.. He hypnotizes himself to go back in time(1912 or so), to meet a woman.. Turns out it's the the old woman from 1980, she's in her 20's in 1912.... While in 1912 he's talking to her, showing her this pocket watch( that she gave him in 1980), he lays the watch down, then something happens so the hypnotic trance is broken, he immediately goes back to 1980. He can't get back to 1912.. And remember he left the watch behind, in 1912..

So the question is...Where did the watch come from? She had it in 1912 because he gave it to her, but he only had it because she gave it to him..

That's the kind of stuff that makes me wonder if time travel is possible.. In the whole scheme of time travel this 'watch' is a very small issue.. But where did the watch originally come from?

Time travel is certainly possible. Go near a black hole, you'll time travel. In fact, once explained it's really not that crazy of a thing. Time being relative and all.

The issue is can we go back in time (which I think is no), and whether or not time as we perceive it even exists (also I think a no).

To touch on what was said earlier, it's very possible that we're creating the universe by our observation of it. Then again, it's possible we're creating reality by our observation of it.

I think that Schrodinger's cat is interesting, but only because of the splitting of different events and the observation of them becoming reality (double slit experiment, etc...). The juxtaposition of something being alive and dead is just a matter of which deterministic universe we're in.
