The problem that I have with Oculus Rift is that it can easily fall into the hands of criminals.
Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.

facebook buying them pretty much ruins the open source nature of it, and it's going to be geared towards casual shit now. not that there's anything wrong with casual users of it, but we finally have the capabilities to make truly amazing VR and it's going to be squandered by shitheads in a boardroom trying to figure out how to make zynga relevant again.
