they give a lot of the software devs retina MacBook pros because they're just superior devices. A lot of people end up using desktop windows devices and IT is constantly scrambling to fix dumb shit with them and the performance is ridiculously shitty. I don't really understand why, but every organization I've been to that has windows computers has had them work poorly. From the army to school to financial services. It's always just a big piece of shit. At this point they're pretty much handing people iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks and using windows when they're trying to go to he cheapest possible thing that somewhat functions, or there is something that isn't available on OS X.

That shit just doesn't happen on my Mac, or it's incredibly rare. If spending an extra $100 means that doesn't happen very often, it's worth it.
