i thought he was asking why it still has an atmosphere. yeah the slow rotation is why they think it lacks a magnetosphere. at least that seems to be the dominant theory.

yeah, and? it still has an atmosphere. and the magnetosphere on earth has collapsed multiple times. we're still here. the atmosphere can help shield radiation itself even in the absense of a magnetic field. true, hydrogen would escape and something would need to be done about that. what, i dont know
