this will be sweet
i think it needs exterior camera so you can see your controls if you need to though. or something like that. or entirely different peripherals -- gloves that could talk to the vr and then be rendered in game as something else. kinda like "check your watch" and really it shows kinda a pad on your arm in game to switch weapons, or something

Would be interesting with gloves in an FPS, holding a virtual rifle or whatever. Arms would get tired fast though.
Honestly, quality VR would be pretty sweet for my work as well, since I do a lot of 3D design stuff. To be able to put yourself inside the geometry and look around...very cool.

fatiguing the body would be a good way to get people to stop and do something else for a while.

heh. I always thought it would be hilarious to get one of the those bicycle generators to charge a battery bank, which would run the TV and console. Make the kids charge that bitch up before playing. Considering how much power these things draw the kids would be getting lots of exercise.
