Got a new build up and running with Ubuntu 12.04. Nvidia driver was easy to install so that was a huge relief.
AMD FX-4170 Quad Core (4.2 ghz)
8 gb Patriot Memory (2 x 4)
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard
GeForce GT 620 (Dual DVI, Mini hdmi)
1 TB Seagate Hard Drive (7200)
Asus Wireless-N 300 Mbps
Black Raidmax Viper case (/w 500w psu)
Running Ubuntu like a beast. Can't say I went for top notch quality and the case is ugly as hell, but it was the cheapest and included a psu so I didn't really care. Downloaded Steam as well and appears to be running ok. Probably will have to get a better graphics card if I wanted to do serious gaming. Mainly just wanted a machine that could handle multiple virtual boxes.

Except I just realized that I installed the 32-bit version of Ubuntu. Fuuuuuuuuuuuu.....Wasted a whole day of downloading programs.
