I just got a new laptop, and I'm trying to get back into gaming so I was wondering if any of you have a list of top games I should play that have come out in the last 5 years, anything except MMOs really. Also, not sure how much I'm into turn-based strategy, but if you think it's worth it.. Creative single-player games are also very much appreciated, since my internet access will be limited at points this year while traveling.

Right now I expect to get the following ASAP:
1) Starcraft 2
2) Fallout 3 (I know it's old, but I was playing the originals back in early 2000s, and they were fun as hell)
3) Battlefield 4, maybe
4) Portal

Definately portal 2.

Is this gaming laptop? Trying to game on a laptop is usually a frustrating experience. No balls. Unless your spending big money, mobile hardware just doesn't hold a candle to desktop stuff.

starcraft 2 is really boring. battlefield 4 is...okay?

portal and fallout 3 for sure. give mirror's edge a try too.

there's also minecraft, space engineers, kerbal space program for some creative singleplayer games.

of course for RTS i recommend eu4 or crusader kings 2.

if you want to delve into the world of a failed franchise i'd recommend the first two assassin's creed games.

the story is shit and battle.net isn't much better. i'd recommend just playing broodwar again. if you want a classic RTS though i recommend rise of nations. has aged superbly.

have you seen the first two? they're very good games. the ones after.....ugh

i know there's a new rainbow six game coming out this year. have no idea if it'll be shit like their last few though.

Personally, I thought SC2 and HotS were both terrific. Its getting dated, but I'm still looking forward to the third part of it.
