4 others worked fine for them
its good if there are no failures across the board. even though space x is doing a few more interesting things -- next launch is attempting to land the booster on a landing pad in the ocean -- it's still private enterprise doing this. it's a shame it didn't work

I saw somewhere a post from a guy saying he used to work for them but quit because of how cheap the company was and all of their "cost saving" methods that mostly left these things unsafe. But its the internet, who knows if he's telling the truth or not.
Bad deal all around though. Hate to see any failures with anything associated with NASA these days. Their budget is already low enough as it is. Them having failures isn't likely to give people the warm fuzzies on giving them more money.

Dropping like flies.
I feel pretty bad for Branson and his whole effort. I really like the idea space tourism even if these things are just suborbital hops. Rest in peace to the pilot or whoever was that died. It sounds like the spacecraft blew up right after detached from the mothership. Probably catastrophic engine failure? Not sure.
