The idea that a certain sexual orientation needs to be "cured" is as absurd as the idea that legislation needs to be passed that prevents parents from attempting to "treat" it.

The thing that bothers me is not so much parents trying to cure their child of their sexuality, but the fact there are people can who claim they can do it and tout for business.

It would be better to pass a law that only practitioners approved by the American Psychiatric Association may treat minors for personality disorders or mental health problems.

It's very clumsy. Isn't it possible to pass a law that restricts children to being treated by members of the American Psychiatric Association?
