Not defending hitting a kid an any way, but what was his parents doing when the kid was going off? Did they try to calm him down first or what? I have seen parents let their kids act like animals and they do nothing.
The hardest part of doing nothing is knowing when your done.

If I were a bystander, I wouldn't f**k him up. I'd hurt him, but not seriously. But if it were my own kid, or even if just my wife was there, he would have gotten f**k up bad. She would have chewed his face off if that's what it took to submit him. One of the reasons I married her.
