i despise the term "processed food" because it can mean anything cooked (or frankly, modified, like, with a knife), same as i despise the term "food processor" because it can mean anything that puts food through any process, including a human. but even then i also don't really know what makes foods "processed" when people talk about "processed" foods. yeah i get they're probably referring to cheetos, but i don't know what kind of differentiation actually exists. it seems to be more of a feeling than a real definition because if you point out that their homemade applesauce is processed they flip out saying that's not what they meant and complain about how i'm talking about semantics when they are using shitty words. "whole foods"? like the whole pig? the apple, core and all? what the hell does that even mean. whole foods. it means that there's half foods? what the f**k is a half food is what i really want to know
