I saw something on Science channel last night. 4% of all Americans think that alien lizard men are secretly running the government.

No kidding. TV was on some random Morgan Freeman show, and it was a blurb that showed up at the bottom of the screen.

I have to imagine that some people in these surveys are just saying random crap to be funny. We aren't that stupid as a society . . . are we?

Society is to blame. The teachers are the victims. Politicians too are the victims. People don't want functional government. What can the politicians do? Most of them are underpaid anyway, so how can we even expect them to try?
