I'm pretty sure that my latest response to Dharma is decent enough evidence that I am willing to have a serious discussion, as I have been from the beginning.
You're white knight syndrome is really beginning to wear thin.
I wasn't taught most of the things I am fairly well informed about in a school. I took the time and care to educate myself. I got my introductory lessons in Marxism by printing off the essentials from marxists.org and reviewing them while working ten hour shifts at Kum & Go.
I'm not some pampered student. You don't know the first thing about me. I'm just not as lazy as most others when it comes to these subjects. I took the personal time to educate myself. I wasn't taught Gramsci's theory of hegemony in school, for instance. I haven't taken any courses in evolutionary theory, for example, I've read the relevant texts on my own time. Anyone can learn this stuff if they take the time to do so, but they're usually just too lazy and apathetic to do so.
When other people can't be bothered to take themselves seriously, it's a bit of a stretch to insist that everyone else take them seriously anyways.
