It's a subway station. That platform looks to be about 8' wide. He was definitely in the way of SOMEONE. Had to be, unless that's the most unused subway station in the world.

Don't know where that video was, but here in NO, there are 2 types of performers. Those who have a permit, who basically have the right to be wherever their permit says, regardless of them being in the way or making lots of noise. Then, there are the unpermitted ones. They can still do their thing, but they cannot obstruct traffic (cars or people) and have to shut it down if anyone complains of noise, crowds, etc. They also may not erect any structures, like easels, drums, etc. (but, I think that stools and such are OK, because they can carry them off).

Those guys don't block anything. Even were the station busy (I can't read the sign so I don't know what station it is) you can easily get around those guys no matter how packed it is.

This is completely inexcusable.

yeah as noted he was 'only' arrested but the cop literally read aloud why the guy was doing nothing illegal, and arrested him anyway, because the cop decided to abuse his own authority. which wouldn't be such a big deal if... well, cops kinda do this shit all the time, and sometimes it doesn't end with just an arrest
