video game voice actor strike

so the video game industry has had a strike of voice actors for almost a month now. four of them were in reddit today trying to justify their position

they didn't answer anything that was critical of their position though so it's pretty worthless AMA
some points of the union are fair. perhaps their voices can get stretched from working on X thing for 4 hours straight. perhaps they should get more breaks. that's fair.
but they want profit sharing over 2 million copies sold. and the video game companies had basically agreed to everything, from a 9% pay raise to safety benefits (for both voice and motion capture actors)... everything except for the profit sharing

i really don't understand this. the developers are the ones who pour their soul into the game, voice acting is window dressing. voice acting has never made a game for me. i have never sought out a game thinking "oh, so and so is in this!" sometimes i might think "is that micheal dorn?" or something like that and think "neat, i'm glad he's getting work" but i never bought a game for voice acting. hell, i often turn it off after a while. they are one tenth of one percent of the people that work on the games. further because of sales, aside from AAA titles getting to that 2 million dollar mark could have some serious issues funding this; if developers, the ones who put so much into the game, also got this i don't know how the game industry would be able to continue with cheap sales all the time
i think game companies should just call it and forget voice acting for a while. its not important for the game
