I'm pretty happy with the current US system. I don't agree that Corporations are individuals entitled to the same speech rights though. Scalia is just kinda making that up.

That's the road to Bolshevism and single-party dictatorship. That's not communism, that is fascism itself.
The problem isn't freedom of expression, the problem is that monopoly capitalism equates capital with speech. The Citizens United Supreme Court ruling wasn't really about freedom of speech, it was about allowing for the unrestrained influence of capital in the political process, pretty much the opposite of free speech. Free speech is now not free, it is incredibly expensive. To launch an effective advertising campaign now costs millions and billions of dollars. That's not free speech. That's the aristocracy of capital.
