This just doesn't seem like a radical ethological idea to me. Every human child is taught to share, taught to cooperate even in competition. Just the fact that we TEACH the young at all implies a deep reliance on mutual aid. We didn't get space shuttles and large hadron colliders by not championing egalitarian cooperation. If anything, we take it for granted.
