If I was president, on my last day I would pardon everyone who anyone ever asked me to pardon. Because f**k it, they've probably suffered enough.
Just goes to show, don't be shy about asking.
Of course, you could have a dickhead like W who wouldn't pardon his own VP's homeslice. But oh well, it doesn't hurt to ask.
