Bad idea. The users on the forum most would consolidate power (you know whom you are) to remove posts/topics not to their liking.
Elements of democracy in a republic work pretty well everything else being equal. Democratic votes on "bad posts" relegate users to not only enforcing the rules of the community, but potentially crafting them as well. Direct Democracy is dumb.
Furthermore, this would vastly increase the incentive for users to create dummy accounts to cast more votes in their favor. It's a tool ripe for manipulation without a moderating force willing to quell persistent fake accounts - and we've seen and continue to see - proxies make that task nearly impossible. This would just complicate a moderators work further.
