We get these error messages at work all the time. Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari - doesn't matter. I have to go restart our router and DSL before it fixes usually. Sometimes I can just clear the cache and restart the browser. I spent an entire weekend running every scan I could imagine and never could find anything on any of them.
We get this error on virtually any website we visit regularly - yahoo, facebook, slacker, google, etc. Not just one site and happens randomly. Its nuts.
I even get it on my laptop when at the office but it has never once happened to me at home.
