I picked the "None of the above, here's what he should have done" option.
Killed the horse, and put it into the car, with divorce papers nailed to the carcass.
OK, I probably would have stopped before I actually went that far. But, it certainly would be tempting.
Seriously, I probably would have contacted an attorney, installed some monitoring software on the home computer, and began collecting evidence for the eventual divorce proceedings. Then, when the time is right, pull the trigger on the divorce, hit her with both barrels of evidence, and ensure that she gets NEITHER the horse nor the Peugot in the settlement (much less anything else).
