I'm not sure I understand the thought process behind ' all manufacturing jobs are bad, and menial, and beneath us Americans and should be left overseas' yet service jobs that have replaced manufacturing are good?

30 years ago the main road around the town I live in had 10-12 stores and restaurants.. Now there is literally hundreds of Olive Gardens, and AutoZones, and PetCo's and Walmarts, and Targets, and grocery stores, and on and on and on. They are sh1tyt menial jobs. Much sh1tter then most manufacturing jobs..

i'd rather press sheet metal into a form all day than work the register at a walmart. probably make twice as much doing it too.
