at 20 years you get 50% base pay, adding 2.5% per year of service to a max of 75% at 30. base pay of course doesn't include things like combat pay or whatnot but my father looks to have made over 10K at his retirement as base pay, and retired after 25, so he's getting over 6.5K per month doing nothing and in wisconsin this isn't taxed. this of course increases with cost of living, etc. the ass has another job that is at the same level as he was before he retired a civilian working for the army and complains about money. with my mother now a head of a deptartment in a college, i think they've moved comfortably into the 2 percenters. jerks
