OK, so larger picture.
Many people say, "It's OK for a business owner to discriminate, because it's his business. And the customers can just buy elsewhere." But, can't that same logic be applied to employment? "It's OK for the business owner to discriminate, because it's his business. And the job seeker can just find a job elsewhere."
Why is it OK to discriminate against the public when selling, but not when employing?
Frankly, it needs to be treated like clubs. If you run a private club (and don't avail themselves of tax breaks), where only paid-members are allowed access, you can discriminate. But, if your business is open to the public, you cannot.
