Bass is just horrible. I bought a pair on high school when I didn't know any better. The sole came off the first week.

I ask because my more fashion-conscious friends spend thousands, but always seem to be dealing with really crappy construction. One friend just bought some name-brand belt for $400, Gucci maybe? I don't remember. Anyways, it lasted all of a week before the holes frayed and then ripped. Luckily he went back and was actually told to pick out any belt in the store as a replacement. So now he has some ridiculously gawdy thing worth $800 holding his pants up.

I admire people who dress sharply, but I hate people who spend stupidly. The aforementioned friends tend to be both. After many years of being cheap as f**k and never buying clothes, I am about to embark on buying a whole new wardrobe. I am skinny and 5'11". Any suggestions on brands or styles that you guys have? I refuse to spend more than $200 on any single item. I have a couple thousand to spend and I am willing to travel to Toronto if I have too.

I need casual wear for the most part, but I also need at least one good outfit that can be worn on New Years. Formal but club appropriate. As much as it saddens me to ask for help from people I typically make fun of, I need your expertise.

You can have class without applying for another loan to fund your wardrobe. There are millions of addicts and desperate Americans who sell back luxury items each day. If you can sacrifice the impulse to buy new, you too can own a $500 suit for pennies on the dollar.
