Look man, I've explained in this thread to the best of my ability what the patent actually was and why Samsung copied it. If you have specific questions on what I've said, quote them and I'll reply.

If you think that Apple was granted a patent on the rectangle, and that Samsung alone was sued for producing rectangular phones, despite the fact that other companies with large market share (HTC, LG, Motorola, etc.) produce phones in the same style, than I don't have anything to say or even discuss. If you claim that is the patent what do you want me to tell you or talk about? Do you want me to sit here and be mad at Apple and say they are a bad company because the US government supposedly granted them a patent on the rectangle? I just don't really get what we're even talking about when you start from such an absurd viewpoint.

And yes, I am emotional about it, as anyone should be. The patent system is one of the greatest economic crimes of the 20th and 21st Century. It has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people (see: generic medicine laws) and has drastically decreased technological innovation.

Take out a pencil, and draw a rectangle. Then, erase the corners and make them round. Let me know if Apple sues you for violating their patent on basic shapes.
