What else? Probably a bunch of kids movies like Toy Story 3, Up, and Wall-E. Moonrise Kingdom or Life Aquatic? Django Unchained and Kill Bill? Inception, Gravity, 12 Years a Slave or is it too early to tell? LOTR trilogy? All 25 Harry Potter Movies? The Departed?

I think its hard to pin down classics for movies since it seems like so many movies have withstood the test of time. Then there are cult classics, classics, movies that were so big at the time they carry on with their own inertia, etc. All of which meet different criteria, but are all part of popular culture in some aspect. I think it would honestly be easier to say what won't be a classic movie.

Yes, all great films. Having liked Drive, have you seen The Place Beyond the Pines and Only God Forgives? Both dark and beautiful films.

The only film in that list that I never have seen is Amelie. I am going to have to watch that.

I think that Lincoln will be seen as a classic.

If there is any justice P.T. Anderson's, Darren Arronofsky's, Woody Allen's and Terrance Malick's recent films will become classics.

Music fades more often then movies, but that's due to the amount of music that exists. I think its very different between movies and music in thaybrehgatd, so a greater percentage of movies will be remembered.

Also, among animated features, I think Sprited Away is a clear classic. I believe Tangled will be seen as one, too. Wall-E and Ratatouille as well.

LOTR trilogy is definitely classic. I think that series is a pretty obvious one. Dunno about Gravity. It might only exist for movie theater experience instead of at home.

edit: Casino Royale is a classic. Revitalized Bond.

What about Requiem for a Dream? Shaun of the Dead? American Psycho?

I think for classics it's more so going to be songs than about the bands.
