My understanding of B-12 is it is produced by bacteria in the soil (not meat) which animals ingest by eating plants and we in turn get the B-12 from eating the animals. The reason people can not get B-12 from a vegetarian diet (without supplements/fortification) is because the vast majority of our veggies have been all cleaned up by the time they reach our plate.
Anyway to Dylan, supplement the D and B-12 either by vitamins or buying fortified soy milk and eat a wide variety of whole food plant based stuff (grains, beans, fruits, veggies), cut out/down on the processed junk, make sure you're getting enough calories and you should be fine.
