when lucas said he wanted the prequels to rhyme with the originals, this is what i expected. similar thematically, similar in locations, similar in so many regards, but also different. they don't visit the same locations of the originals. the visit places that could have been in the originals, sure, but it's not the same. lucas took us to the same spots because he didn't know what he was doing. he just threw CGI shit everywhere. there's people in body suits for the aliens here, probably aided by some CGI, on massive sets, and it just feels so amazing
abrams, just, stick with star wars. this was your destiny.
