the kid might not even know he's being sued. i was the cause of an accident when i was 17 (although i was going 40, not 80, and the accident was the result of rain, which, being from vegas, i had absolutely no experience driving in up until that point). anyways, two years later my father mentions to me in passing that i need to go give a statement to one of his attorney's because one of the drivers i hit was suing. up until that point, my parents had never told me about the lawsuit. and i don't recall them mentioning it afterwords. i had no idea someone was trying to ruin my life.
