My point is that very few things are strictly "domestic" or "import" anymore.
The point (as I always heard it) to "buying domestic" is to "keep money in here in the US". But, which keeps more money in America:
- Buying a GM car that was made in Australia or Canada, with predominantly Mexican parts?
- Buying a Mercedes Benz (or Toyota, or Honda) that was made in Alabama (or elsewhere in the US) made with parts from all over?
To me, it seems a wash.
