I liked Caprica as well. They were doing something unconventional, and I applaud them for that. It was an attempt to create an interesting scifi scenario in such a way as to avoid the giant BSG budgets and still leave room for actors to shine. (A pretty great cast, BTW).
It was doomed to failure from the moment people realized there wasn't going to be a lot of explosions. But at least they tried something new.
Its not a crime that it failed, in the way people are still going on about Firefly 10 years later...few people are going to remember Caprica.
