good episode, although jon going off on his own is kinda weird (in books allister and janos make him go, as they consider him a traitor who they had locked up because he was with the wildings... allister returns to castle black after jon defends it for days as allister is commander of eastwatch and not present at castle black, and then proceeds to lock up snow)

i was waiting for mannis the whole time though

Yeah they burnt a whole episode on the wall which id be ok with considering how important it is, but I expected them to bring in stannis and finish up the plot for the season with maybe only a brief shot of the wildlings peacefully walking through the gate in the finale that would have only taken up 30 seconds. Now it's going to require 10 minutes or more of the finale be back at the wall. Would have preferred they put that on the tail end of this episode and cut out Sam begging Jon to tell him what it's like to get laid.

the entire episode was just the first night of the seige of the wall. the wildilings made too much progress and were alive far too long on the south side of the wall, which caused the episode to go on. then again, breaking it up over days lessens the epicness of it, so i guess that's why they did it that way

jon has to be with mance when mannis shows up which is why it didn't happen. but since jon did go to go treat/assassinate with him, it should be next episode

final episode of the season, dragons eats a child, tywin eats an crossbow, arya's on a boat, the mannis shows why he is the one true king of the seven kingdoms, probably some crap about sansa, and cliffhanger is tyrion and lady grayheart who finds podrick and the beauty

Considering at least a good month has passed since the red wedding in the show world, Catelyn Starks body should be thoroughly decayed at this point. IIRC it was only a 3 day timespan in book.
