I tried to engage DWBH in a respectful way because I really wanted to discuss his views. Views which, btw, conform pretty close to those of many real world conservatives.

I use conservative in the sense of describing an actual position, not in the sense of comparison.

Conservative equals classical liberal in my mind. The conservatives people associate the term with are actually just statists who want to apply big government in certain ways but not others.

Yeah but you're describing a libertarian, which I think eynon only is on some issues.

Something else that is annoying about criticism of pcf is the whole circle jerk thing.

Why don't these people join in a discussion then? Or make a thread? Or do anything other than post a dozen times and wonder why no one is engaging them more?

I dunno. I mean it's tough to jump into a heated debate that's already in progress. Every time I try I pretty much get ignored. But oh well, I chalk it up to me not saying anything that interests the other posters who were online at the time.
