I'm talking about BMW. I had massively expensive cooling issues and even driveline vibrations leading to a differential failure. One of my partners had an SLK with a broken hard top stuck halfway up, which made the car undriveable...and stuck in the rain with a tarp over it until the wrecker could get there. My grandfather has a E320 CDI that eats batteries at $600 each and shifts like a 1988 Buick. The transaxle is going to be...thousands. Very plural about the thousands.
"German engineering" as a car selling slogan is a classic example of needless overdesign and resultant unreliability.
I stick with Infiniti these days. Almost as good as a Honda.
