And what things are disagreeable? I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is that people are all up in arms about. Because it appears to me, quite clearly, Microsoft is doing the exact same thing that Apple, Amazon, Steam, etc... are doing. They are just doing it with games.

The XBox is going to get killed here. Even if I admit you are 100% right about this being the best way for the gaming industry to move forward, that doesn't change the fact that there has been an overwhelmingly negative reaction to what is going on. People simply do not agree with you. You can go on and on about why they are wrong, but that doesn't change the fact that consumers don't give a shit about what is good for the industry, they don't care what is good for them, they really dislike it when people try to tell them what is good for them, and that is just the way it is. Alot of my customers order pizzas with toppings that make no sense together and taste like shit. But I'm not going to send them something they don't want because it's better. They get what they want, or they go elsewhere. Period. And that is for a $10 purchase, not a $400 one.
