i know for a fact that it's based on how much product they move not on gross profit margins.

i'm sure they are. but bonuses are based on SALES figures, which they track independently from general profits. if your profits go up a tiny bit but your sales drop, you aren't getting a bonus. you're getting investigated by walmart corporate.
