pretty much.
every single new poster i've seen join will post a one or two line response randomly in a 30+ page thread and then never post again. you can't expect to do that in an on-going discussion where what little you said has probably already been said.
when i joined the original PCF i was confrontational and argued from existing arguments. and the rest is history. i probably wouldn't have stuck around if i waded into one of the many middle east debates, posted "israel is bad" on the 40th page, and then caught feelings that no one was responding.
