By a PS4 then. I don't know what else to tell you. If you have shitty internet and you are SO WORRIED that your internet will go out and you won't be able to spend 14 hours/day playing Xbox single player if your Internet goes out then by all means, buy a PS4.

There's nothing else to say here. Your complaining about pissy infrastructure. I'm sure plenty of people are going to be happily not having a problem. *shrug* .

You know what makes me mad?

If I want to use Netflix, and my internet is down, I can't stream my movies!!!
If I want to use Steam, but I haven't downloaded a single player game, I can't play it!!!!
If I want to download a new book to my Kindle and my internet isn't working, I can't download it!!!!

I'm going to blame those companies, and not my horrible ISP.

You can use it, for 24 hours after your internet connection goes out. You can't use Netflix if your internet goes out, yet you still pay for that f**k day. It's the exact same thing. If Steam goes down? Guess what? Can't play your f**k games.

Why are you being so critical of Microsoft in this aspect, while giving a pass to similar services? It's not shitty if you don't have sporadic internet service. I can see that being something of an issue if that's actually your daily life (and you live in Ethiopia or whatever), but it's certainly not a deciding factor.

I hated the idea of DRM (still think it's pointless) on e-books and the thought of them being stored on the cloud when they first came out. Now I really don't give a crap. The pros outweigh the cons, the cons being virtually non-existent. I have 416 drm'd e-books sitting on Amazons servers, hell I have 484 albums and 7067 songs sitting on their servers. I don't care that I can't sell them in a secondary market, they're convenient as heck to access and share amongst my family members with access to my account.

Seriously I give it a few years and gaming will fully enter the cloud/digital age and most of the gamers will come along willingly. Short term MS may take a PR hit, but they ain't going anywhere.
