Hey John, I didn't get an invite...but I also don't know what server you're on? Does that matter for invites? I think it has to since loading the game itself is dependent on the server used.

What do you expect, its an EA game! Why anyone would get suckered into shelling money to these guys amazes me.

It's gotten to where ant-piracy measures etc have sucked all of the fun from video games. All the games are specifically designed to be psychologically addictive rather than actually fun to play. The few that are fun are copied over and over instead of fresh ideas being developed.

It's too bad this launch has been so terrible Sim City was really always one of my favorite games. I'd love to try an updated version.

It kills me to say this but computer gaming sucks.

My city has around 75k population but it is a cess pool... working on getting it cleaned up but it may be too far gone.

ive started like 12 cities already

the calculations are all done locally. i know this because i constantly disconnect and reconnect and things work. however, off in the server is the other city, with the numbers of how it's working and what it has available to the region and whatnot. once EA gets their shit together and the servers work, then i'll be able to tell how broken this game is (I still think it has some deep flaws in its AI of handling agents) because the server issues are, i think, a large part of the sync issues that the region cities have with one another. Way to Go EA! way to really show why the region play, the purported reason for why it needs to be connected to the internet all the time, is so helpful

as i can't rely on region play to constantly update (i can't go to my B city and build a gargbage dump and go back to city A and have the trucks come like i told them to... no no. might be another real day before that happens) cites are unable to specialize well enough. and without cheetah speed, i'm unable to get a big enough bank to build stuff i need, etc. there's some big flaws but hopefully maybe this week they'll fix the server issues. maybe.....

that all said i have been playing it quite a bit because i do like the game. i like the stuff they added (expandable buildings make a lot of sense and is fun) but they're gonna need to fix some of these issues


also because EA are dirty f**k they already released a DLC pack -- for 20 dollars -- to add european tilesets to your cities. Which is fine. whatever. but if someone with european tile sets abandons a city and he's in your region, only people with european tilesets can claim it. so... basically unless you have the same DLC as someone else you have to trust they will play forever.

EA needs to fix that so you can claim the cities of others with the dlc content. even if it displays differently... and if they have unique buildings, give the art and whatnot to everyone but only allow them to be placed by someone with the dlc.

I'm playing League of Legends again. Don't know for how long but its not crashing nonstop like BF3 is so...LoL it is for now.
