Yeah, I enjoy the Olympic finesse type hockey much more than the grabbing and holding NHL type game. Hockey's a fast game, let them play fast.. Let em loose..
NHL playoff hockey is better because they don't want to take stupid penalties.. So it is a faster game..But during the regular season many games are just unwatchable.

I actually completely disagree. The regular season is when they call grabbing and hooking penalties so the game opens up a lot. In The playoffs the refs put away the whistle and to some extent it ends up bogged down in chippy play and you get a lot of 1-0 2-1 games with 20 shots on goal for each side.
But the nhl is worlds better than it was since USA hockey changed the rules. I had taken a few years off from the game before the rule change and came back to play in 2006 under the new regime. I think I spent half my first season in the penalty box,
they really changed the whole game in 05/06 when they started enforcing clutch and grab penalties and got rid of two line pass rule.
It's Way faster now, though clutch and grab is making a comeback in the playoffs again.

Canada didn't look very good in that first game. I'm sure they'll pick it up though, but that as ugly hockey. If they play like that against Russia or the US, or even Sweden, the'd lose.

to be honest i don't how good any team is because every game canada and the US has played has been a complete f**k demolition of the other team. watching canada absolutely annihilate austria like 5-0 right now.

That ought to just ban everyone but the US, Canada, Russia, Sweden and the Czechs from even competing lol.
