In the KC-SD game on the play where Succup missed the 41 yd FG I'm reading a penalty should have been called against SD, illegal formation.. Meaning Succup would have got another try, from 36 yds. and maybe put the Steelers in the playoffs..
Again, the Steelers don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Anyone starting 0-4 and losing to teams like the Vikes and Raiders deserve to go home.. BUT I think this is just another step towards having replay for certain penalty calls, or lack of penalty calls..
The Refs are having a tough couple of years..

The chargers barely deserve playoffs either since they had to go to overtime to beat a team of backups. I don't think this is such an outrage though, cause at the end of the day, when you miss a 41 yd field goal on overtime you should lose the game. If the illegal formation had resulted in a blocked kick it would be a different story.

The fumble in OT between KC and SD was worse then missing the illegal formation call. Bill Leavy, from Superbowl 40 fame, said that there was a whistle blowing the play dead on the fake punt, meaning the play was over before possession was lost by the SD player. One problem...after making that ruling he gave SD the forward progress that occurred after he said the whistle had been blown. Dafuq? If they can gain the yards after he states the whistle was blown, then the fumble is legit as he never contended the runner to be down by contact, instead having the play end on the whistle by the side judge. Why is Leavy still an NFL referee?
