I've tried. Tried and tried, but I don't get Radiohead. Go ahead and call me a shallow bubblegum chewer for not liking Radiohead, but I just don't see the attraction.

Sort of like I look at most abstract art and don't get abstract art.

You can like Radiohead and love them for offering their albums for free and letting you decide how much you want to pay them. Go right ahead.


I used to be crazy about Pink Floyd. And then came The Final Cut. That album sucked. Sucked so bad it almost retroactively destroyed every Pink Floyd album ever made.

Then one day, along came The Division Bell. I listened to it, but The Final Cut had sucked so bad it turned out it also destroyed The Division Bell for me.

So I tell this friend of mine all this about Pink Floyd and how I did not like The Division Bell.

He says to me, "Listen to it again." And he had this superior-like tone in his voice. Like he understood, but that I was being stupid.

So I listened to it again.

And, of course, I saw the light. I love that album.


I tell you this so you know I gave Radiohead a more than fair shot.

And I just don't get Radiohead.

Sort of like the way I don't get the whole sushi thing.

Bland.

That's the word I was looking for. Bland. Radiohead is bland.

Also, Radiohead is a bit like Nirvana in that... it sucks but no one wants to acknowledge it
