nothing. Seriously. If you just yelled too much you just try not to talk. If it's laryngitis, nothing you can do. If it doesn't go away in a 10-14 days, you may need to see a specialist, though.

My ex GF who was Mexican advocated gargling saltwater. I think you could do that or use those throat sprays but I think the best remedy is bed rest and stuff yourself full of food.

No! Not garlic, gargle water with a few spoons of salt mixed into it, she said it was an old Mexican tradition. You could try an antiseptic mouthwash like listerine too. Ive found that a steaming cup of tea with lots of honey and fresh lemon works wonders too.

My mom used to have us gargle with saltwater too. Her "tip" came from Hungary, so it must be worldwide.

Yea, I've heard of the gargling salt water thing too. Although I'm not sure if it would be any different to gargling aspirin.
