Curious to know how many people vote for 3. Come on, you can do it!!
And yes, we all know when someone's asking for it. I'm generally talking about innocent bystanders, meaning do you go out of your way to muck things up and insult people (JD, this one's for you (where's my middle finger smiley)).

The fact that I'm using the internet already means that I'm civil. Cavemen don't insult each other.

Well man, I seriously have been thinking about this question, but based on our past few exchanges I thought I'd make a joke as well.
I am generally curious to know what people think constitutes appropriate behavior. Obviously in real life you can't call a stranger a douche bag during a conversation without getting punched in the face, but the internet forces us to create new norms. You are free to believe or not believe me.
Also what time is it where you are? Because it's pretty late here. Going to sleep, f the end of the quarter.

I gave a civil response to your thread and you skipped right over it to engage in a substanceless squabble with JDHURF. If you don't want incivility then don't feed into it.
If you hadn't responded to his one-liner about vomitting it would have had zero impact on the thread, but by choosing to focus on that one sentence rather than any post actually addressing your OP, you've brought your own thread close to derailment.

I challenge the claim I was being uncivil. He said someone he knew made a claim. I observed my disgust with the claim in what I would have thought was a fun and silly way.
I also disagree with the unspoken premise I detect here that one can only be civil by stroking egos.
Otherwise I totally agree with your post Philly.
