How do you know? Is it the chemistry? The ability to talk easily between each other and it just "flows?" Is it being intrigued by a person? Wanting to learn more about them constantly? Is it tolerance? Seeing how much and how far you're willing to go/withstand?

How would you describe it?

I expect answers of great enlightenment specifically from Heather, JK Gregg, Spider, Winchester, NAB, and Exploited.

To me there are 2 types:

Annoying chemical catastrophe which makes you crazy and stupid. Thankfully not as bad as used to be for me.

Thinking somebody is so funny/ smart/ etc... that you want to hang out with them at the expense of everybody else. can lead to type 1. person may not be hot but it helps.

There is no way anyone would voluntarily ask my opinion on anything, but I do know what love is,... it's coming to a realization that the person you've spent significant time with is someone who increases the level of joy in your life when you find yourself spontaneously wanting to increase the joy in theirs. You can see yourself supporting them, tolerating them, and taking care of them with a capacity and enthusiasm that just about everyone else would usually get a tiny fraction of.

Love is an orientation which encapsulates a ton of different feelings, because it influences a ton of different situations. It's not lust, it's not dumb-struck sappy romanticism, it sure as f**k isn't the person that "completes you", it's an understanding that there's someone out there that you need to be near because there aren't many situations in life that you wouldn't like to experience along side them. When you got it, you know it.

caring more about someone else than you care about yourself

Love is vulnerability. And faith.

Mostly when you get to know someone romantically there are layers of armor between you, because both of you are only extending enough trust so as to avoid getting stabbed should the other decide to pull a knife, figuratively speaking. We can get hurt emotionally far more deeply, and lastingly, than we can get hurt physically, and so we take care to protect ourselves.

Love is that point where you look into her eyes, and you make that decision deep down to take off the armor because being close is more important than being safe. Love is when its more important to be vulnerable, than to protect yourself. Its where you place such a deep trust in another person that you create that potential for them to strike you in the most vulnerable place, because you honestly believe that they could no more do it you than you could do it to them.

Love is kissing your sweaty, stinky, flu-victim wife when she looks like hell and has crusty stuff in the corners of her eyes. Because its worth it.

Dangerous voodoo. Not to be taken lightly.
